All matches in the latest county cricket championship series were won outright, although Lancashire, after declaring in tho second innings, finished op against Hampshire with only ( a seven runs' advantage. There was a fair crop of outstanding individual performances with bat and ball. J. B. Hobbs was among the batsmen who scored centuries, others being Woolley, Tyldcslcy, O'Connor, and Mead. Freeman gained another bag of thirteen wickets, and Verity, bowling with success in each innings, helped Yorkshire to a ten-wicket win over Middlesex. Nichols, A. Pope, and Sibbles wore among others to perform well with the ball. Tho results are:— Middlesex .. Yorkshire, at Lord's.— Middlesex, 136 (Verity five for 43) und 192 (Verity sis for 49); Yorkshire 302 (Leyland 8C) and. 28 for no wickets. Yorkshire won by ten wickets. Surrey v. Somerset, at the Oval. — Somerset, 133 (Gover five tor 52) and 324 (Burrough 92, not out); Surrey, 32G (Hobbs 117) and 134 for four wickets. Surrey won by six wickets. Hampshire v.
