PAHIATUA RACING CLUB
The annual balance-sheet presented to members of the Pahiatua Racing Club this week showed a slight improvement on last year's position, for, whereas, the amount brought forward at the beginning of the year was £114 0s sd, the club at the end of the year just closed • had been able to bring forward £152 11s. The annual report stated that the year's working had resulted in the club's suffering in its receipts under all heads, but fortunately the expenditure was less than in the previous year. The win-and-place system of betting had been inaugurated at the annual race meeting and proved popular with the public.
