SOCIETY'S ACTIVITIES
The second'season of th,o British Music Society has begun with its successful participation in the Brahms Centeitary Festival, and with the delightful.hour's programme broadcasted from 2YA recently. Invitations will shortly be issued for an "at home" to be given,to members during the third week in August, and plans are in operation for ah. unusually interesting series of musical events' which will include a concert of \works; by- New Zealand composers to be. given in co-ope,ra:tioivwith the Weliin'gtbn' branch of the ,'Music Teachers' Association. The ■ active .B.M.S. music-making groups are continuing to do .excellent work on the most progressive lines. -Miss Valeric Corliss (hon. organiser of the 8.M.5.) reports that similar groups, have been successfully established in Masterton and in Marton, and that eventually other branches are to organise these groups of music lovers, -who. enjoy music:making, together in an ■informal, constructive, and progressive way.
