•The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., reports having held a verv 'satisfactory sale on account. ot Mr. S. B. Read, Heatherly, Levin, whose lease lias expired, on Wednesday, July 26. Bidding throughout was brisk, and the sale proved an entirely satisfactory one to the vender. The 81 cows found buyers at full market rates, prices ranging for anything of quality from £S 15s.'down to ±l>, whilst poor-conditioned lots found buyers at satisfactory values. Twenty-seven young heifers were sold at £2 7s and '£2 6s The horses were keenly competed for, and brought £37, £34, and £20. Pigs were sold at from £4 10s downwards. The attendance was large.
