BRITISH SAILORS' SOCIETY.

A very'enjoyable evening was spent at the British Sailors' Society on Thursday night. The programme was arranged by Sirs. Jennie Potts. Items were contributed by Mesdames Irene Miller, i McMillan, vind Jennie Potts, Misses Jdanettc Briggs, S. Bremner, Grace McKay, Jean O'Connor, and Rosie Smithers, and Messrs, D. Hogg. D. Stevens, and Chas. A. Wilson. Mrs. McMillan and Misß Briggs were at the piano. A vote of thanks to Mrs. Potts and party was carried with acclamation, supper was served by the workers of the society, the evening being brought to a close with the singing of the National Anthem. ' . ■

• Through the motor-cycle and sidecar in which they were riding colliding with a motor-car at the corner of Carlton Gore Road and Oriental Parade at 5,3:j p.m. yesterday, two brothers named Darragh, who live at 71 Hopper Street, received injuries to their heads.
