BOY KILLED
ACCIDENT WITH PEA-RIFLE

■WHAKATANE, This Day.
A shooting fatality occurred at Ohope, six miles from Whakatane, yesterday afternoon, a 15-year-old boy, Francis Dodd, being accidently killed.
It appears that two cousins, Dodd and Bluett (aged 14 years), were ascending a hill, Bluett carrying a pea rifle. Dodd, who was leading the way, turned suddenly to speak to his companion, and the, gun wont off, the bullot striking Dodd in the region of the heart. He succumbed to his injury on the way to the hospital.
