A downpour spoil* today's huge programme of open-air |functions, arranged to coincide with -fhie presence in London of the "World Conference delegates; aiid onforced cancellation of the King's review of ■London.territorials in Hyde Park. .His Majesty, regretting the cancellation^ paid, tribute to> the patriotism of the men and their employers. He hoped to see 'them parade in this early future. Although the, programme was curtailed throe "Fninps" made a courageous display. Despite1 the poor visibility, they soared through tho pelting rain at 200 miles an hour, their wings barely 30 feet apart, rolling, looping, and zooming. They were often invisible among the storm-clouds.
■ Similarly, although the bad visibility enhanced the difficulties of keeping distance, nine aeroplanes linked by cables, to ■which streamers were attached, exhibited complicated manoeuvres.
