United Press Association —By HUctric Telegraph—Copyright. NEW YOKE, June 3. The aviator James Mattern hopped off at 4.20 o'clock on Saturday morning in a single-handed flight around the world. The first stop will possibly be Moscow. Mr. Mattern is carrying 'six oranges as his sole food supply. After Moscow, he plans stops at Yakutsk (Siberia), Nome and Fairbanks (Alaska), and Edmonton (Alberta). St. Johns (Newfoundland) reported that Mattern passed over Lewisporte 7 hours 20 minutes after leaving New York, a distance of 1000 miles.
