SATURDAY'S RACING

In spite of the weather, nineteen riders started in Saturday's, race held by the Poneke Club at Miramar. In the bowling wind and heavy shqws the riders found two circuits of the tunnel route (eighteen miles) a tough proposition. On the first time around Thomas, Mitchell, and Lasky were leading K. Black (Smin) by a minute. Black was followed by Spavkes) Houston, and Ramsay at close intervals. Ericsson (scratch) came through shortly afterwards in company with Nankive!l (l'/imin), having dropped Blackett, his co-marker, by half' a minute. The rest of the field was well spread out. Lasky and Mitchell were still in front at the finish. A great cjuel for first place was marred by Mitchejl skidding within twenty yards of the line. . . ; ' . Placings and times were as follows:— W.
