"HARD-UP" REUNION
COLLEGE OLD GIRLS
The wintry weather that failed to damp the ardour of the jubilee celebrations at the Wellington .Girls' College last February made another attempt, on Saturday evening, when the "0.G.A." held a "Hard-up" carnival reunion. - The college, was gay , with school colours and decorations. Some- of the ex-pupils came in their school costume, and others in ingenious frocks made from sugar bags. Dancing, games, and a programme to which Mifwany Davies, Joyce Dinnison, and Norma. Pargetter contributed occupied the evening, but the return of school .hilarity and .the joy at meeting old school mates was & feature of the evening... .■ Among those present were Miss Grci'g (principal of the-college), Miss Bathain (principal of Wellington 'East .Girls' College), and Misses Gibson, Ward, and Mason (members of the staff). Among the ex-girls present , were Mesdames Carter, Garrard, " Tennant, Croker, Knight, Trewhellar, , and , Dawson; Misses Ballinger, Stewart .(secretary), Bitossi, Gapes, Mitchell, Holm, Halley, Bird, Shannon, Bichardson, A. ,Lueena, B. Charles,' A. Anyon, members of the College VI A aiid prefects. Tho dance music was played by Connie Coolcy and Nancy Webber, and Ellen Ballinger played the accompaniments. ' ■ , .: . , . During the evening a fireside stool donated to the Social Service Fund was worn by Myrtle Presants. .An appropriate "hard up" supper was served and the toasts honoured with much enthusiasm. All anticipate with pleasure another reunion in the near future.
