THREE MONTHS' GAOL Released from a Borstal institute in December, Samuel Henry .Coley, a labourer, aged 18, appeared before Mr. E. Page, S.M., at the Magistrate's Court totlay on a charge of converting to his own use a motor-ear owned by Alfred de Bathe Brandon. '" Coley and another young man named Wilson, who ; was before the Court earlier in the week on a similar charge, took the car-froni Hobson Street on May 9 with the intention of driving it ta Palmerston North. At Paraparaumii, however, they crashed into- a gate and wrecked the car. Both young men received injuries and were taken to hospital, .from whore Coley was discharged yesterday. "'-' is man has quite a list of convictions for theft, conversion of cars, and false pretences," remarked tho Magistrate when he sentenced the accused to three months' imprisonment.
