James Tanner, aged 25, three seamen, were charged today with breaking and entering the Supply Stores warehouse In Colombo Street, and committing theft. They were remanded until May 20. The police stated that the men were discovered in the shop last night. The quick thought of a Post and Telegraph offlcer and smart work by four polica officers were responsible for the arrest ot the men who, it is alleged, broke into the Supply SUres, Lid., at the corner of Colombo and Lawson Streets, Sydenhnm. The men were found inside the premises, but made a fight for it, and batons had to be used. Warned by a postal offlcer living opposite after he saw lights in the stores, the police officers entered Quietly. Two of the men attempted to escape, but they were tackled by the policemen, and for & few minutes there was a "regular donny.brook." The police were compelled to draw their batons.
