OMNIBUS BOOKS
"Great Travel Stories of All! Nations," edited by Elizabeth D'Oyley,' is one of the latest of the "Omnibus" volumes. It is a library in itself, and in it the possessor will find a, continuous delight. The British section begins with an account of how one Willibald went, from his Anglo-Saxon home in A3). 718 on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem; one of: the latest is part of P. S. Smythe 's vivid narrative of the Kangehenjunga adventure. Between them are many other epic stories which, the British peoples will Jong read — Captain B, P. Scott's "Forestalled," H. M. Stanley's "In Darkest Africa,". Kichard -Burton's "Pilgrimage to Mecca," George Borrows "On the Koad to Talavera," and many more. Those who want an omnibus volume which will provide them with unlimited humour have the choice of "The Night "Watchman and Other Longshoremen," a W. W. Jacobs omnibus volume of over 1000 . pages (Hodder and Stoughton), and the "Bindle Orrinibus," by Herbert Jenkins. Either or both would be excellent companions for the holidays. Five full-length novels of. international intrigue are contained in the "Oppenhiem Secret Service Omnibus" (Hodder and Stoughton).
