RUSSO-CANADIAN BARTER

OTTAWA, 11th January. Negotiations in connection with the proposed exchange of Canadian cattle for Russian oil are .at a standstill. So far the Canadian Government has given no indication of its attitude toward the proposal, although unofficial reports credit the Prime Minister, Mr. R. B. Bennett, with turning down the scheme, which involves the sale of 100,000 cattle to Russia.
