REGISTRAR OF LAND
MR. J. J. L. BURKE
APPOINTED
The appointment is announced of Mr. J. J. L. Burke to be Kegistrar of Land, Wellington. Mr. Burke has also been appointed Deputy Kegistrar-General of Land, and will, in the meantime carry out the duties of Kegistrar-General, no appointment having been made to that office. Mr. Burko joined tho Public Service as a cadet in the Land Transfer Office, Auckland, in 1893, was promoted to Assistant Land Kogistrar, Hokitika, in 1907. In tho same year hn qualified as a solicitor of the Supreme Court. He was transferred to Wellington in 1908, and in addition to other duties took over tho office of Examiner of Titles.
