. PARIS, 2nd June. In the French tennis championships, quarter-finals of the singles, Lee (England) defeated Lacoste (France) 6-2 6-4, 4-6, 7-5. Cochet beat Hughes, 6-4, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. In the semi-finfl of the ladies' singles Mrs. "Wills-Moody beat Fraulein Krahwinkel (Germany), 6-3, 10-8. • J "
Lee accomplished one* "of the best feats of his career in beating Lacoste. Both played a similar game.

LONDON; 2nd June. The Eev. William Edwin Orchard, Congregational minister of the King's Weigh House Church, Duke street, ia. the West End of London, has been received into the Catholic Church.;
The' Lambeth Conference in 1930 finally refused his appeal to enter ths Church of England begun in 1927.
