ALL ABOUT BUTTERFLIES
"The Lii'o of tho Butterfly," by Frederick Schnack (translation by Winifred Katzin and published by George Allen and Unwin, Ltd.), is no rival iv poetic imagery to Maeterlinck's books about insects. But none the less it should have a wide appeal, inoro so in the Northern Hemisphere than here, perhaps. It contains scientifically accurate information about tho life and habits of the butterfly: and fascinating and lively descriptions written by a man with a keen imagination. The first chapters givo a detailed account of various types of butterflies, aud the last part of tho book deals with the moths, Tho author also tells in vivid words some of his experiences at night hunting these beautiful insects in hia own. country—Germany.
