Fines of £10 on the manager, Charles Hunter, a«d £2 on. the (deputies, William Chetwynd and "Walter Dando, of the Dobson colliery staff, to-day were imposed upon conviction of breaches of the Coal Mines Act on 23rd February. Inspector Strongman" stated that the charges arose out of a" shot fired in the gas at a face adjacent to tho gas accumulation. Hunter was charged with allowing tho'breach and Dando with tailing to record in a book for the purpose this withdrawal of workmen, fromthe place in question. Chetwynd was charged with failure to inspect the place from which the men were withdrawn. Decision was reserved on a charge against the shot-firer; Hallinan'/of failing to examine' the places N within twenty yards before firing tho shot. "
