(Original.) • On Wednesday al'ternoon, Jaokio and Helen \vero very excited because on the 84tU was Christinas Kve. Mother was making cakes and Christinas puddings for Christmas Day. When they had iinished then- tea, mother said: "You had better gq to bed now, because you will have to get up iv the morning and help me get the things ready." When, nighttime came, Jackie and Helen hung" up their stockings1 and jumped into bed. , About 10 o'clock in came Santa Claus with his Back on' his back. In Helen's stocking bq put doll, pram, book; jind a racquet. , Into Jackie's he put a cricket bat, ball, aeroplane, and penknife, ■ Then when he had finished filling their stockings' he crept softly away. The morning came, and they, both woke up 'and shouted, "Look what we have in our stockings! Aren't we lucky?" Jackie cried, "Hurrah^ I have got a cricket ba,- and a ball, and Helen shouted, "I have a dear little doll with a pink dross on!" They jumped out oi' bed and ran to show mother what they had got.
