DECISION TO SHARKEY
AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP

NEW YORK, 12th October.
The fight between Primo Camera and Jack Sharkey for the heavyweight boxing championship of America ended in a win for Sharkey on points, the bout going the scheduled distance of 15 rounds.
The boxers' weights were:—Camera, ISst 91b; Sharkey, 14st 6Jib.
Sharkey let Camera take the offensive in the opening round, but had little trouble in evading the Italian's rushes. Sharkey landed effectively with a right.
In the second round Sharkey ran into a wild left lead by the Italian. They exchanged blows, landing lightly on the face and body. Sharkey had some difficulty in reaching his opponent, but had had the better of the fight thus far.
In the- third round the American did •well, Primo missing badly. However, the Italian's advantage iv reach made it impossible for 'Sharkey to use jabbing tactics, and the round was even. Camera began the fourth round by rushing, but Sharkey had no difficulty in dodging. Sharkey landed three hard lefts to the body, then floored his opponent with a hard right to the chin.
