When the moon rises, when the hook catches for the twentieth time in the bushes; when the fish will not rise; then, it is hoped, the good fisherman will not give vent to baser feelings, but instead hie himself to some sheltered spot and smoke a pipe of peace. There, under the soothing influence of a glowing bowlful of Edgeworth Tobacco, fishing troubles are smoothed over, the tangled line almost untangles itself, and fish that will not rise to your fly of flies seem more to bo pitied than cursed. So, to the soft accompaniment of murmuring water and rustling trees we leave you—an unsuccessful angler, but a thoroughly happy man. —Advt.
Life's pendulum swings from good to bad. As oscillation 'twixt sad aud glad; The clock runs down and the motion dies, A state of calm stagnation implies. Life's pendulum swings 'twixt well and ill, To-day a fever, to-night a chill; But the consolation for colds, be sure, Is always Woods' Great Peppermint Cure. —Advt.
