Ammoii Ha and Phar Lap have both been nominated, for the W. 8. Cox. Plate, nine furlongs and a half, at the Moonco Valley October Meeting on Saturday week. Ashley Reed rides Spearman in the Caulficld Cup, and G. Newton rides Minarca. On the tracks, Royal Barb, who looks well, cantered. The Dimmer did useful work. Vigne also did a serviceable task. St. Mary and Opera King have arrived at Caulfield from Adelaide. Both strode over a round. Spearman did a mile on the outside of tho track in evens. Stephanite has joined G. Hepburn's Caulfield team. The New Zealand-bred Aifirm has been sent out for a spell. Miss Arrow was bled after Toorak, but is now all right.
Tom Curtin, a former crack jumping rider, is dead, aged 57. He won the National Hurdles with Valdis, and the Australian Steeples with Arcadia.
