PETONE TENNIS CLUB
Mr. W. G. Lodder presided over tht thirty-eighth annual. general meeting of the Petone Tennis Club last night. About thirty members attended.
The annual report gave :the total' membership as 87, of which :72 were active players. The thanks of < the club' were due to the following gentlemen for donations received during the year, and also for their patronage and support generally;— Mr. A Greening, £1 Is; Mr. Lpdder, 10s 6dMr. M'Kenzie, 10s 6d;Mr. Nash, lIP 10s 6d; Sir Thomas'Wilford, ICC, £1 Is; and Mr. Sturman, £l is for a, trophy to go to the most improved player for the season. This trophy had, with Mr. Sturrnan's consent, been divided between two players,. Mrs. W. T. Wilson and Mr, J, Gaynor, - who had each showed considerable improvement. ■Dealing with financial matters, the report said that in view of the fact that the sum of £33 was spent on various nonrecurring items, including the wireless set, survey fees,.and;,a presentation, the reduction of ..the overdraft by £28 must be considered satisfactory.
