(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, 22nd August. The quadrangular primary schools Rugby tournament between representative teams from the Taranafci, the Hutfc Valley, [Rangitikei, and Horowhenua districts commenced to-day. Hult Valley and Taranaki drew-, 6-all; and Rangitikei defeated Horovhenua by 3 to nil. The tourney will continue for several days. JIASTERTON, 22ud August. The auntial quadrangular tournament between the Wangantii, Wellington, Mauawatti, and Wairarapa primary schools representative Kugby teams commeuced at Masterton to-day. Wellington beat Manawatu by 27 points to nil. Tries were scored by Atkins (3), Parker, Millar, Bradley, and Campi. Butcher converted three. Wairarapa beat Wangamii by 3 points to nil. Football of quite a high standard was set in this game, with little to choose between either team. The only score was a good try by Thompson following a rear division passing movement. TIMARU, 22nd August. The animal match between thj Canterbury and South Canterbury primary schools was won by Canterbury by 21 points to 3.
