'L'iie South Island inter-University Collego cross-country championship was decided at Wingatui on Saturday afternoon, over a course of four miles, Otago registering a comfortable win over Canterbury. The ground was heavy after recent rain. The individual winner was W. A. Stewart (Otaso). whose time was 27min 1 3-i*ec. He was followed home by four Ot-igo men, and then came L S. Bambery (Canterbury). This is Ilia first contest of the kind, and it is hoped to make it an annual event
