Hislop has sung .In the famous opera houses of (lie world, and on the concert platforms of many countries, and his career has boon romantic and colourful. In association with tho South Afrtcan-bom pianist, Isidor Goodman, ho has , been charming large audiences in Australia, and New Zoalaud, and when lie returns to Australia is to appear witli Ilia Melbourne. His co-operation with tho Wellington Philharmonic Orchestra will be another happy incident in the career of progress on which that talented orchestral' combination has embarked since its Inception a short time ago. Tho orchestra has already appeared with Jan Kubeltk, the world's famous violinist; his playing In the Town Halt last November with Mr. Joha Bishop's instrumentalists is still remembered. The council of the orchestra aud Messrs. J. and N.. Tait take genuine pleasure in. announcing another epoch-making musical event for next Wednesday, King's Birthday, and it is a signal honour for New Zealand and the Capital City that the Wellington Philharmonic Orchestra has been able to secure the co-operation of two such famous personages; there Is no doubt that music-lovers will be, prouder than over of its Philharmonic. Ensemble playing and singing will characterise the versions of Wagner and Gounod, which Mr. Hislop will sing, with the orchestra, the "Prize Song," from "Die Melstersinger,'" and -"All Hail Thou Dwelling," from "Faust." Mr. Goodman will play, with tho orchestra, the Salnt-Saens Concerto in. C Minor; and the orchestra, under Mr. Bishop, will play, among others, Mozart's Symphony in A.flat.
