M'NeiT, S3IJ, presided over a sitting of tiie Magistrate's Court to-day. • ■ Charles Thomas' Batkin,, a labourer, aged 40, and HaloM Geori;e"Waiiaiu Stevenson, a mechanic and cook,vaged 40, were each sentenced .to three months' imprisQumeut on charges of being id^a'and disorderly, iwith insufficient law&J means of support. Detective Tricklebank said that the. accused had done no work for three months, and had been touring around tbc Wellington clistrict in motor-cars. A remand until, sth June was granted in the vise of Maxwell Stewart Mitchell, a, salesman, aged 21, who was charged with incurring. credit -to the extent of £17 17s from.the Stewart Hardware Co., Ltd., by fraud. ■ Bail was fixed at £50, with one surety of £50, a condition being that the accused should report twice weekly to the police. ......
