POPPY DAY
The Wellington Returned" Soldiers' Association is holding-the'annual'"Poppy Day" street' sale on' Friday, When it is hoped that a good response will be made by the public. The poppies on. this occasion, have been made iu.JTew Zealand by disabled returned soldiers, and the returns from the sale will be used entirely for .providing work for unemployed---returned' soldiers during tho winter months. The street, stands have been allocated/ and already a large'number of ladies have offered their services. More helpers are wanted, ' and any ladies who can assist are .asked' to communicate with the secretary, !No, .12, Brandon street, or Telephone 41-649. Collecting boxes, official badges, and poppies will be available at the office of'thp association any time to-morrow ■
