BRITISH TEAM TRAINING

RECORD SPEED EXPECTED

LONDON, 6th April. Bight airmen, from whom three will be selected to defend the Schneider Trophy in .September, have commenced j training at Felixtowe. The 1929 machines ■ have been further streamlined, and are now capable of 380 m.p.h., but experts confidently expect at least 400 m.p.h. from the new seaplanes.

The highest speed at which man has flown was achieved by Squadron-Leader Orlebar in 1929, when he flew under Schneider Trophy conditions at 365.80 miles an hour. In all probability ne will captain this year's British Cup team.
