SPILLANE CUP CONTESTS

The Rugby football tournament between Marist Clubs of the North Island for the Spillane Cup was played at Hamilton during the Easter holidays. On the.first day Auckland beat Hamilton by 8 points to 6 and Wellington beat Wauganui by 11 points to 9. The two winning teams played off for the Cup on Monday, Auckland being successful ,by 11 points to 3. ■Jfor .Auckland Cornthwaite, Trigg, and Muller scored tries, one oE which was converted by Evans. For Wellington M'Greevey scored a try. Wanganui and Hamilton also met on Monday, the home team winning by 11 points to 5.
