The .-fortnightly meeting of the: Lower Hutt Borough Council was held yesterday!, Present: Sir Alexander Roberts (Mayor), Councillors A. M'Bain, W. G. Meldrum, D. S. Patrick, J. R. Boyd, A. E. Carver, F: Campbell, J. Mitchell, and A. Grierson. # The Hutt Free Kindergarten Association thanked the a :l *■<,■ its donation of £20. The offer of tlie A.M.P. Society to reoeive repayments of loans and interest in Wellington instead of. Sydney, was accepted by the council. • The Mayor remarked that the benefit was mutual and the council would save considerably on its exchange.. The council resolved to recommend to the unemployment Board the scheme submitted by Mr. J. ,T. Bridger, Mayor of JMtham, lor the relief of unemployment. An application for permission to erect a cycle stand on the kerb in High street was refused.
