UNEMPLOYMENT BOARD

WELLINGTON NOMINATIONS

A meeting of ex-service men, called by the Wellington Returned Soldiers' Association, decided last evening to nominate Colonel G-. T. Hall for the position of returned soldiers' representative on the Unemployment Board. Colonel H. E. Avcft-y, who presided, said that he understood that all nominations from returned soldiers' meetings would go first to the New Zealand Returned Soldiers' Association, and then to the Government. The New Zealand Association would- have no power to select any nomination from those received, nor, he understood, would it have the power to make any recommendation as. to any particular nomination. Messrs. T. L. Barker, president of the union, and P. O'Rorke were nominated to the Unemployment Board by the Wellington Builders and General Labourers' Union at a meeting held last evening. :
