BANKS' LOAN TO ARGENTINA.

• British bankers recently came to the rescue of the new Argentine Government with the offer of a short-term loan to tide it over the present urgent crisis, stated the Associated Press correspondent in Buenos Aires. The question of security was waived. The banks concerned vrere said to be the Bank of London and South America, the Anglo-South American Bank offering 5,000,000 pesos each, and the Royal Bank •of Canada offering 3,000,000 pesos. Associated with these banks were the National City Bank of New York and the First National' Bank ol" Boston.
