AGAIN UNLUCKY
GOSHAWK BEATEN
rrom "Vedette."
SYDNEY, 11th September,
Backers made Goshawk a solid favourite in a six-furlong welter at Canterbury Park on Saturday, in which lie carried 9.9. J. Pike was in the saddle. Drawing the rails settled his chance, for ho could ,not hold his place, and ran into trouble three furlongs from home. That was the end of his chance. He came on- again into fourth place, and should not be long in winning a race at a middle di tance. It is doubtful if J. jM. Cameron fancied his chance a greafrt deal on account o the barrier position on the small course, for few big wagers were noted against him. The public followed Jockey Pike, and remembered Goshawk's form when he lost his rider at Eosehill a fortnight ago.
