HUTT VALLEY GUN CLUB

On Saturday afternoon the members of the Hutt Valley Gun Club opened the 1930 trapshooting season ■ on the' club grounds at Taita, The weather conditions were ideal, and some excellent shooting was done both by members and visitors. Three matches were fired, and all were well contested. I The first match was one of fifteen birds, and possibles were scored by J. Cave and S. Tisdall. Inithe'Bhoot-ofi for the trophy Cave won ou the fourth bird. The second match was also one of fifteen birds, and J. Cave, maintaining his /excellent form, scored the possible, and won the trophy allotted to this match. A 1 visitor from the West Coast, S, J. Godfrey, also shot the possible, and divided the sweepstake with Cave. The concluding match waa-a ten-bird double-rise sweepstake, and the prize money was divided among the following ■with seven birds apiece: J. Cave, C. G. Pearse, T. Skippage, and H. Smith. Among the visitors present during the afternoon were Messrs. R. Semple, M.P., S. J. Godfrey (West Coast), A. G. Pearce (Hawkes Bay), J. R. Sutcliffe, and J. Staples (Wellington).
