GAMING CHARGES
RAIDS BY POLICE
AEKESTS AT GREYMOUTH
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ' ■ GKEYMOUTH, 11th May. The police on Saturday .afternoon laided two places in Greymouth, and as a result twenty persons were later charged with breaches of the gaming laws. • Philip Stewart was charged with keeping a common gaming-house, also with assisting in keeping a common gaming-house. Ho was remanded by a Justice of the Peace, on bail of £50, until 19th May. ' James Heffernan,. who was on the same premises in Mawhera quay,1 was «harge,d with assisting in keeping a ionimon gaming-house. ••■ Ho was remanded till 19th May,,on bail of £25. Fifteen others, arrested on the same premises, were likewise remanded, on bail of £5 each, until 19th May. Daniel M'Carthy was charged, with keeping a common gamiug'-house in Boundary street, and was remanded until 19th May, on bail of £50. Two others arrested at his premises, one-be-ing a woman, were also charged, aiid were remanded', until 19th May on bail of £5 each.' ' . , ..;'■■' . .
