Customs Primage Duty.
The additional primage duty of one per cent, imposed by the Act passed last session on certain foodstuffs and manures will cease as from Monday next, 31st March.
Naval Reservists Go To Saa.
. The mine-swdeper Wakakura, under the comniand of Lieutenant Edward, E.N., sailed at 1 p.m. . for Picton Sounds with sixteen natal reservists and two officers on. board. While at sea the members of tlio Naval Keserve will lio trained in 4in guii work, niineSweeping and niine-laying, and all phases of seamanship. The Wakakura will return on Friday afternoon, and will sail the following day with another batch of naval reservists. Kvo parties will ue taken to sea in successive weeks.
Wliaic-chaser Arrives.
The Kos No. IV., one of the fleet of whale-chasers belonging to the factory ship Kosmos, arrived in Wellington yesterday, and ia at present -with the rest of the whale-chasers at Evans Bay. The Kos No. IV. has not an immediate connection with Kosmos, however, as sho was lent by tho Kosmos to the Southern Princess when the latter lost ono of her chasers in the Antarctic. The Southern Princess and her chasers are duo at Wellington on Monday.
