THE SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY.

Thursday's bi-weekly concert at the Sailors' Friend Society, in tho hands of Mr. J. Jenkins, was replete with items dear to the heart of a sailor, and needless to cay encores were frequently given to the insistent recalls. The performers were Mrs. X. Jenkins, Misses Violet Jones, Chapman, Joyce Twist, and Messrs. T. Jenkins, L. lievis, S. Jackson, and Carmody. Mrs. T. Jenkins and Miss R. Chapman were at the piano. The home touch was given to the evening when the hostess and her helpers dispensed the "cup that cheers but does not inebriate." Yet again the competitions tilled an important place in tho bill; prizes came from Kelburn and went to the meu in port.
