TIMAEU REGIONAL BOUNDARIES

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) TIMABU, 27th March. Members of the regional committee of the Town-planning Board to-day met representatives of. the South Canterbury local bodies for the purpose of hearing evidence »o determine the boundaries of the regional area comprising the Borough of Timaru and surrounding district' In the-unavoidable absence of Mr. S Blackley, chairman of tin regional committee, Mr. A. H. Bogle (representative of tho Surveyors' Institute ot the Town-planning Board) occupied the chair. He had - with him Mr. 3. W. Mawson (Director of Town-planning) and Mr.'J. G. Alexander (City Engineer, Dunedin). Representatives ot the Railway and Health Departments were also present. Mr. Mawson gave a lengthy address on regional planning. A full discussion followed, as" a result of which the conference commended regional planning to the local bodies of the district. The general feeling regarding boundaries is that the district should be between the Bangitata River on the north and the Waitaki River on' the south. ___^_^^^__^^
