Several of these have been given effect to and conditions are improved. A considerable amount of detritus and, in some cases, sewage, aro finding their way into tho harbour through tho city stormwatcr drains and culverts. Besides the nuisance from the sowage, all this material has to bo removed by dredging as it is liable to become a menaco to shipping. Bcpresentations on the subject have been made to tho city authorities on more than one occasion, but so far the stops which havo been taken to stop the flow aro not sufficient."
