lii the Canterbury match, 600 yards, there was some close shooting, nofewer than five marksmen finishing -with 47. each. The match was won by P. Berry, of Tararua,' on a count back to the fifth place. He is a B grade man. H. K. Smith, of Opaki, a tyro, also scored 47, and would- have won the match had he .finished with a bull. His card showed eight bulls, but, unfortunately, tis last shot was a magpie. H. T.
