MESSAGE FROM SIR D. MAWSON

Last month a' radio message was received from Admiral Byrd by Mr. A. Leigh Hunt, chairman of the English-speaking Union, requesting that greetings be sent to Sir Douglas Mawson on. the Discovery. The message was duly sent on by radio from Melbourne. Yesterday Mr. Hunt received the following radio from Sir Douglas:—"Ship Discovery: Your wireless message much appreciated. Please communicate my congratulations Byrd and advise regret been unable establish direct wireless communication between expeditions. —Mawson."
