Customs and excise duties collected at Auckland during February show increases of £6074 and £170 respectively on the totals for the same month last year. TJie figures are as follow:—Customs, £185,980, against £179,936 last February; i motor- spirits, £29,143, against £2(5,445; ! motor tires, £1508, against £4175; excise on beer £9830, against £9GGO. j CHRISTCHURCH, 2Sth February.. Customs returns for Christchurcli are as follow, the figures for the corresponding periods of 1929 being in parentheses:—February, £86,55S (£87,297); eleven months to 2Stli February, £I,OSB--394 (£962,827); beer duty, February, £6733 (£6844); beer duty eleven months to February, £82,956 (£78,486); motor spirit tax, February, £10,624 (£12,086).

DUNEDIN, 2Sth February. Following are the Customs returns for Dunedin for the month ending to-day, those for February of last year being given in parentheses: Customs duty, £65,035 15s Sd (£64,374 9s 8d); beer duty, £20,889 Is 7d (£19,581 Is sd); tire tax, £1496 14s 7d (£628 19s); petrol tax, £7832 19s 4d (£6242. 15s 8d).
