CONSERVATIVE POLICY
LONDON, 27th February. Mr. Baldwin, replying to a, deputation of the Conservative Parliamentary Agricultural Committee, announced his intention, when returned to power, of instituting a system ensuring to the farmer a guaranteed price for homegrown wheat of milling quality offered for sale, but the exact price must be further examined. He also promised by prohibition or countervailing duties to prevent unfair competition of dumped or bounty fed oats, regardless of
the country of origin. He added that ho adhered to his election pledge that only home-fed boot' would bo supplied to the Army, Air Force, and Navy at Home ports for the six months October to March; also that during the six months following harvest 25 per cent. jog flour ii»cd by those services should
bo home-grown wheat. He promised a full exposition oJ! tho Conservative agricultural policy as soon as possible.
