Brigadier-General the Hon. Evcrard Baring, chairman of the Southern Railway, announced at the annual meeting that the company had acquired a shareholding interest in Imperial Airways, and had made arrangements with the latter for co-operation in running air services. If the Southern Railway used its powers to run an air service this would be operated by Imperial Airways, while the Southern Railway would be helpful to Imperial Airways in the way of through bookings and advertising. . - .;> ~ .
