United Press Association—By Electric Tele.

■eraph -Copyright.

SYDNEY, 28th February,

In tho Legislative Assembly tho Transport . Bill, the main object of which is to co-ordinate tho tram and bus services in the metropolitan area, to overcomo tho cut-throat competition, passed its second, reading.

The omnibus proprietors are much perturbed at tho Government's intentions. They fear that the existing bus services will be severely curtailed, causing them heavy loss. The climax occurred to-day, when the bus proprietors made the State Government what is tantamount to a firm offer for the trams, lock, stock, and barrel, the price to be fixed by arbitration, and upon such terms as to protect tho public from exploitation.
