ST. JOSEPH'S ORPHANAGE.
On Sunday last the 300 children :p£ St. Joseph's Orphanage, Upper Hutt, enjoyed a delightful picnic at Rona Bay. Nearly fifty: car owners responded to the' appeal of Mr. C. B. O'Donnell, the secretary, and, conveyed the 'party to the' picnic. After j luncheon the children were taken to the Recreation Grounds, where sports were held. In addition to the sports prizes each child received a toy. The sea bathing was much appreciated by the little ones from the country. After tea the day terminated with the Benedicition of the Blessfed Sacrament ■ given •by Father" Lysagbt at San Antonio. Among the visitors from the city were Archbishops Redwood and.O'Shea, the Very Rev. J. Dowling, -5.M.,, Rector -of St. Patrick's College, and several of thd clergy. The sistei-s_ extend their siucere thanks-to the efficient committee who organised the picnic; to those who generously placed their cars at the :disposal otV the .children; to "those who donated prizes and refreshments, and to the ladies who worked tirelessly to mako the day so thoroughly enjoyable.
