ON THE EDGE OF ICE PACK

BYRD AMONG THE WHALERS

WAITING FOR THE BOLLING

(By Kussell Owen —Special to "New York Times.") ABOABD CITY OF NEW YORK, 26th February. Wo are safe from the icefield cruising along tho edge of the pack amongst tho whalers. One of them lies ahead now; and all the morning chasers have been in sight hunting whales between big flat bergs. Tho weather is ideal with a sb'ght- swell and a favourable wind.

Last night we crashed into several icebergs which shook the mast, but we hope we have left all behind now.

We expect to meet the Eleanor Bolling this afternoon.
