WHANGAREI, This Day. The members of the commerce train who have been touring the North were entertained at a smoke concert at Whangarei on Saturday night. The visitors were astounded at the class of country and the productivity. It was stated that the butter produced by the twenty-one factories in the Northern Peninsula last year was • valued at £1,817,600, an increase of approximately £500,000 as compared with the previous year. The sheep last year numbered 880,510, an increase of 131,521. The wool exported was valued at approximately £264,500. It was generally admitted that the North was designed to become one of the most important areas in the Dominion.
