The president of the National Terracotta Society, an American body, has predicted the use of brilliant colouring in the skyscrapers of the future. Yellow, green, navy blue, and coral pink are_ the shades which .he favours. A limited use of colour is already being made—a famous tower in New York is painted black and gold. But the new idea is for something more durable than paint and of much greater variety than black and gold. As this is an age of flying, special attention must be paid to harmonious roofing to provide attractive air scapes for fliers.
